Questions students ask

What is the Egyptian Bachaloria?

+

A new optional secondary system alongside Thanaweya Amma, not a replacement for it. It runs over three years, you choose one of four tracks, and the exam is not a single attempt.

How many Bachaloria tracks are there?

+

Four: Medicine & Life Sciences, Engineering & Computer Science, Business, and Arts & Humanities. You choose in the second year, and your track decides which faculties you can apply to.

What is the Bachaloria total out of?

+

600 marks: 400 from the second year and 200 from the third. The first year does not count towards the total, and Religion is pass/fail at 70%.

Can I resit a Bachaloria exam?

+

Yes. Second year: May and July. Third year: June and August. The first attempt is free, the second is optional, and the higher mark is the one that counts.
