The four Egyptian Bachaloria tracks: subjects and faculties

The short answer

The Egyptian Bachaloria has four tracks, chosen in the second year of secondary school. The first year is a shared preparatory year for everyone.

Medicine and Life Sciences
Engineering and Computer Science
Business
Arts and Humanities

Every track studies Arabic, a first foreign language and History in the second year, and each track has one specialised subject chosen from two. In the third year each track has two specialised subjects.

The subjects on each track

Medicine and Life Sciences

Second year: Physics or Maths.
Third year: Biology and Chemistry (advanced).

Engineering and Computer Science

Second year: Chemistry or Programming & AI.
Third year: Maths and Physics (advanced).

Business

Second year: Accounting or Business Administration.
Third year: Economics (advanced) and Maths.

Arts and Humanities

Second year: Psychology or a second foreign language.
Third year: Geography (advanced) and Statistics.

The faculties

Medicine and Life Sciences: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Science, Physiotherapy, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture.
Engineering and Computer Science: Engineering, Computing and AI, Urban Planning, Applied Arts, Architecture.
Business: Commerce, Economics and Political Science, Business Administration, Law, Management Information Systems.
Arts and Humanities: Mass Communication, Languages, Law, Social Work, Education, Tourism and Hotels.

These are the lists the ministry announced. Admission goes through the coordination office, by your total and preferences, among the faculties linked to your track; each faculty's exact conditions are announced by the coordination office.
