The short answer
Yes. According to the Ministry of Education, you can move from one track to another after finishing the second year (the first year of the Bachaloria certificate), provided you study the new track's specialised subject you have not studied before.
What stays the same?
The subjects common to every track do not change: Arabic, the first foreign language and History, plus Religious Education. What changes are the specialised subjects.
An example
A student on Arts and Humanities who wants to move to Business must study one of Business's specialised subjects, such as Accounting or Business Administration, alongside the new track's third-year subjects (Economics and Maths).
When and how do you apply?
The ministry has said it will announce the dates on its official website. Follow your school and the ministry's site rather than chat groups.
Before you switch, ask yourself
- Can you study an extra subject? You are adding a specialised subject on top of the third year.
- Why do you want to switch? If it is because of one hard subject, the answer may be a better teacher rather than a different track.
- Is the faculty you want really on the new track? Check the faculties for each track.
This is different from switching systems
Changing track within the Bachaloria is allowed on these terms. Moving from the Bachaloria to Thanaweya Amma, or the other way, is not allowed by law during your studies. Details in Can you switch between Thanaweya Amma and the Bachaloria?
