The short answer
The Programming & AI textbook for the second Bachaloria year (Engineering and Computer Science track) is published by the ministry in two parts, in Arabic and in English for language schools:
- Part one: four units: Information Technology and Society, Cybersecurity, Web Applications, and Web Design and Media.
- Part two: three units with nine lessons: Data Collection and Cleaning, Analysis and Communication, and Machine Learning and AI.
Where do you download it?
From the Ministry of Education's e-library, under the Egyptian Bachaloria. That is the official source.
Why not a Drive link from a group chat? Copies passed around can be old, missing pages or edited. Take the book from the source, and keep notes and summaries for revision once you understand it.
What is in part one?
Unit 1: Information Technology and Society
How technology changed the way people communicate, work and learn; how AI works; AI in daily life and industry; and its ethics.
Unit 2: Cybersecurity
Encryption and authentication, network security design, and incident response and risk management. We explain it simply here.
Unit 3: Web Applications
How a web application is built, how its parts talk to each other, and frontend basics.
Unit 4: Web Design and Media
Media types and their properties, information design and user experience (UX), how to evaluate a website, and how to improve it step by step.

Unit 5: Data Collection and Cleaning
Data collection methods, cleaning and transforming data, and open data and APIs.
Unit 6: Analysis and Communication
Statistical inference, regression analysis and evaluation, and presenting data visually.
Unit 7: Machine Learning and AI
Machine learning fundamentals, neural networks and deep learning, and large language models and generative AI.
Before you open the book
The book is written as ideas, not commands to memorise. The best way to study it: read a lesson, then explain it in your own words in three lines. If you can't, go back to it.
