Where is Physics in the Bachaloria?
- First year: part of Integrated Science for everyone.
- Second year: an optional specialised subject on the Medicine and Life Sciences track (instead of Maths).
- Third year: Physics (advanced) on the Engineering and Computer Science track, alongside advanced Maths.
The gap to watch out for
Engineering students do not study Physics in the second year. Their second-year specialised subject is Chemistry or Programming, and in the third year they meet advanced Physics, half of that year's total. If you chose Programming in the second year, advanced Physics and Maths will feel relatively new in the third.
So what should you do?
- Know where it sits on your track before choosing. The four tracks
- If you will meet it in the third year at an advanced level without studying it in the second, revise its basics yourself during the second year, even an hour a week.
- If it is your second-year specialised subject, that is 100 marks. Keep up week by week.
