How many students chose the Bachaloria? 92% of the first year

The numbers

23 December 2025: Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif announced that 92% of first-year students, about 752,000, chose the Bachaloria of their own free will.
11 May 2026: the minister said 95% of students had chosen it, and that it "matches the best international certificates".

What does this mean for you?

1. You are not alone

The great majority of your year is in the Bachaloria, so competition in university coordination will mostly be with Bachaloria students like you.

2. Content and support will grow

The more students there are, the more teachers, platforms and study books focus on the system. But be careful: not everything said on social media is right. Go back to official sources.

3. Nobody has a track record in the new subjects
