The distribution was issued by the Central Administration for Curriculum Development for "first secondary, general and Bachaloria" — the same syllabus for both systems.
Unit one: an introduction to the civilisation of Egypt and the ancient world
- 12 September: civilisation and history
- 26 September: sources for studying civilisations
- 10 October: the factors behind the rise of civilisations
Unit two: ancient (pharaonic) Egyptian civilisation
- 7 November: economic life
- Political and administrative life
- 5 December: social life
- Religious life
- Cultural and intellectual life
Then general revision before the first-term exams (9 – 14 January 2027).
The exam
- 85% multiple choice, 15% short essay
- Ninety minutes
- Comprehension 50%, application 40%, higher levels 10%
- And importantly: the student may answer the essay question with any sound answer within what was studied
How to study it
- It is not date memorisation. The syllabus is built on factors and features — why a civilisation rose and what it looked like.
- Build a table for each aspect of life (economic, political, social, religious, cultural) and fill it as you go.
- The map is your friend. The Nile and the location are the factors themselves.
- The essay is won by order: idea, evidence, conclusion.
