The short answer
- It does not count towards the total in any year.
- It is pass or fail, and you must pass it to move up and continue.
- The pass mark is 70%, not 50% as many people assume.
Why 70%?
The Ministry of Education set 70% as the minimum to pass Religious Education in the Bachaloria, as a compulsory condition, even though it is outside the total. The idea is that the subject is not just a number on the certificate and has to be studied properly.
In every year?
Yes. Religious Education is taught in the first, second and third years, and in each it is outside the total and needs 70%.
What if you get less than 70%?
You fail the subject, and passing it is a condition of continuing. Even with a high total, Religion has to be passed. Don't leave it to the last week.

- Study it week by week like any other subject, not the night before.
- Understand before you memorise. Understanding makes memory stick.
- Practise past models if your school gives you any.
