The short answer
The third Bachaloria year has only two specialised subjects in the total, each out of 100, which makes 200 marks of the 600.
- Medicine and Life Sciences: Biology (advanced) + Chemistry (advanced)
- Engineering and Computer Science: Maths (advanced) + Physics (advanced)
- Business: Economics (advanced) + Maths
- Arts and Humanities: Geography (advanced) + Statistics
What does "advanced" mean?
The ministry describes third-year study as more advanced and specialised, with deeper topics than the second year. It does not repeat the basics; it builds on them. Each track explained:
Third-year exams
Two sittings a year, June and August, and your best mark counts. The first Bachaloria cohort reaches the third year in 2027/28.
A tip
On several tracks the third-year subjects are not in the second year (Biology and Chemistry on the Medicine track, for example). Start strengthening their foundations while you are in the second year rather than waiting.
Third-year subjects will be on GoBachaloria before the first cohort reaches them. Until then, every second-year subject is available.
