Second-year Bachaloria exam dates 2027: May and July

The first second-year Bachaloria exams will be in May 2027 (first sitting) and July 2027 (second sitting). What we know about the dates, what is still to be announced, and how to plan.

What we know

According to the Education Minister's decision of August 2026:

  • First sitting for the second year: May 2027. Compulsory and free.
  • Second sitting: July 2027. Optional, at 200 EGP per subject.
  • The higher mark of the two counts.
  • For the third year (first cohort in 2027/28): June and August 2028.

What is still to be announced

The day-by-day timetable (which subject on which day) and the times. The ministry announces these close to the exams. Don't trust any "leaked timetable" on social media.

Before May you need to

  • Have completed 60% of the assessments in every subject to sit the first attempt. The 60% rule
  • Be used to 50% essay and 50% multiple-choice. How to prepare

How to plan

  • September to December: keep up with the first term, and the monthly assessments.
  • January to April: the second term, and start cumulative revision.
  • May: the first sitting. Give every subject your best.
  • June: look at your marks, and decide which subjects to retake in July.
  • July: the second sitting, only in subjects where you can improve.

A more detailed month-by-month plan is in the second-year study plan.
